Character Information
Name: Justine.
Canon: The Dresden Files.
Canon Point: Blood Rites. [Going to see Thomas after he's hurt.]
Age: 22
History: Justine's Wiki and me filling in the blanks.

Personality:

Above all else, Justine is a survivor. No matter what is thrown at her, she'll find a way to overcome it.

She's smart, thoughtful, charming, loyal and strong. Justine is ready to give her life for someone she loves. She doesn't hide her fear but overcomes it. She's kind to those who earn her trust and loyal. Her favorite book is The Hobbit and after a hectic life she enjoys doing calming things in her free time, like reading, sketching, crocheting and relaxing on a sunny beach.

Her job or role within the White Court Vampires is that of a hostess, a lover and a snack. Justine is talented at mixing drinks, speaking to strangers and winning the hearts of those around her. She's been part of the White Court for almost five years and has been the partner of Thomas Raith during that time. She loves Thomas and Thomas loves her but he also feeds on her as a vampire, making their relationship naturally complicated.

Justine is very protective of Thomas and those she cares about, sometimes to a fault. She's been known to be selfish, manipulative and blatantly ignores the wishes of others if it means she's going to protect those dear to her. In Grave Peril, she uses Harry and his well-known chivalrous nature to secure an exit for herself and Thomas from a dangerous situation. She also goes against Thomas's wishes by doing this.

"I like her, you know. Ever since she blackmailed me into help you at Bianca's masquerade. That took guts."
- Harry Dresden, Blood Rites.

Luckily, Justine is intuitive and observant. She is able to notice small changes in demeanor or the way that someone’s eyes sweep the room. An example of this can be seen in Grave Peril at a Halloween Ball. Justine is the first one to notice that the drinks are laced with drugs.

She's open-minded and passionate, giving her the ability to fall in love with a monster (Thomas) who will quite literally eat her alive. She understands the situation that she's in and her affiliation with the White Court as food but it doesn't stop her from making her own decisions, supporting Thomas and enjoying her life.

Despite her positive traits, below the surface Justine has some mental turmoil that she strives to hold back. She has a tendency towards excessive emotion and mood swings, similar to Borderline Personalty Disorder. This adds more complex layers to Justine that sometimes masks her usual personality traits.

Being around Thomas or another members of the White Court helps siphon off some of Justine's mental anguish, since they feed on her extra emotions. The effects of the White Court are described as making it look like Justine is high but it also allows her to keep a relatively even temperament. Harry also insinuates that Justine has a psychological addiction to the members of the White Court. In her own words:

"He makes it quieter. Inside me, there's so much trying to get out, like at the hospital. Control they said. I don't have the kind of control other people have. It's hormones, but the drugs only made me sick. He doesn't, though. Only a little tired."
- Justine, Grave Peril.

Justine does have alternative ways to self medicate. It is mention in later novels that she first met Thomas at Zero, a club well known for drugs, sex and other exhibitionist behavior. This was a common hang out for Justine prior to her introduction to Thomas and the pleasant effects of the White Court Vampires. Any mind altering substance is able to help ease her struggle and keep her relatively calm. But of course they all have their draw backs, hangovers or sicknesses.

Her family is not mentioned throughout the novels and it is apparent that they were never prominent figures in Justine's life. At times she appears to be starved for unconditional love and weary of trusting others. Over time she sees Harry Dresden has a member of her family, not only because he is Thomas's half brother but because he's always trying to protect her.

It is sometimes difficult to gain Justine's trust but for those who do, she's a quick and resourceful supporter.

Abilities & Skills: Justine is entirely human and lacking in the skills and abilities department. Her few talents are listed below.
Reading Lips.
Crochets.
Drawing/Sketching.

Inventory/Companions:
The clothes she's wearing. [A white sweater and a short black skirt.]

Choice: Roulette. [I am torn. Please help me select which of the three below will work best. I am thinking Witch but I'm too unsure.]
Reason:

Witch: One of the most important thing about Justine is that she is a sheep or prey among monsters. This makes me hesitant to turn her into a monster since her identity is that of someone who is defenseless and helpless and uses those facts to survive. She is incredibly beautiful, smart but also borderline insane. She has a lot of mental fortitude because she's handled having this mental disorder for most of her life which would be apt for a witch. It'd also play on her ability to assist in indirect means because she could focus on Enchantment or Divination.

Monster - Harpy: While I am hesitant to turn Justine into a monster, as stated above, a Harpy encompasses her very well. She is equated in the novels as equal to someone with inhuman beauty and allure but like a Harpy, she has a tendency to lash out in stressful situations. She is breakable in her position which makes weaknesses like hallow bones.

Monster - Fea: I usually wouldn't suggest a rare option because I tend to avoid them but Justine shares a lot of traits with the Fea that would make her fit well in their category. She's a damn fantastic liar because she lies by telling bits and pieces of the truth. She does this in canon and filters information from the White Court vampires to Harry Dresden. It's ridiculously dangerous but she does it well. She also hides in plan site and attempts to fool those around her in making them think she's human and weak. The other reason is that the Fea has a low threshold for intoxicants. Justine is constantly trying to find her escape and she slips into these drugs to make her happy and relieve herself of the voices in her head. She's an addict and it's a flaw that can easily consume her.
