He hummed softly at the feel of her lips touching his head. The lack of searing pain meant she'd been planning ahead. "I am the luckiest man in the world."

He probably would've sounded more convincing if he wasn't trying to hold his whole left side in, but that was just being lucky at this point.

"Ribs. Heard them crack about an hour ago. Charity Carpenter taped them, but that doesn't really help after the initial relief."

He should know. This wasn't the first time he experienced this, but it never got better. He liked it when Justine played nursemaid though.
